Being a channel for healing

I have been training as a healer for two years and am a Student member of the NFSH – the National Federation of Spiritual Healers. It will be at least another year before I can consider applying to be assessed to become a Full Healer Member.

The NFSH has been going for over 50 years and defend their reputation rigorously. There is a Code of Conduct to abide by and, unlike some forms of healing and therapy, the training scheme takes some time and effort to complete.

The healing does not of course come from ‘me’ but through me. I am acting with the intention of being a channel for healing energy from – well, whatever you want to call it. I don’t know what it is and haven’t any desire to start coming up with theories about it. All I know is that something does happen, don’t know how or why or where from.

It is all a bit perplexing really. I just wave my hands around for a bit, try to keep my mind still and calm, nothing much seems to happen but people say “that was good, can you come again next week?” so I do. Well, there’s a little more to it than that but that’s the gist of it really.

Anyway, if it helps someone, even if simply because they let themselves sit quietly and relax for an hour, then I am happy to do it. I don’t charge although I do ask for a some petrol money if I’ve had a drive to get to them.

So today I visited one of the people who receives healing through me and she felt better afterwards and I was glad to be there, and to be able to slow right down and feel that peace myself for a while, and that’s it. A worthwhile day.

Why I eventually joined John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass

I am following John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass and we are in the second week.

I had already read a couple of his books and liked the style – down to earth, detailed information – but all the same I had to stop and think  for several weeks  before joining up. In fact I hesitated for so long that I almost missed the sign-up.

The reason I hesitated was because I have already discovered a lot of information about internet marketing by myself using google and reading eBooks. In fact I was already working on a product and had started other websites.

I really wasn’t sure if  it was worth paying for a course when all the info I  needed might be out there for free if  I just looked hard enough.

I’ve always been self-reliant and have been self-taught in many of the things I’ve wanted to do – but there is no question that you can learn a lot just by watching someone who really knows what they are doing.  I learned a lot in building firms like that, years ago.

Then I remembered just how long it takes to discover things for your self  from scratch and just how much you can learn quickly from being taught by an expert.

I also thought about how much time I have spent already, making only a few steps forward.

It’s not just finding the answers, it’s knowing what questions to ask.  And then comparing the answers and looking for other peoples’ opinions and good and bad reports.  For example I spent hours and hours researching blogging tools and hosting programs before choosing WordPress and then after all that deciding to stick to the internet host I was already using…

So the idea that someone who had been there before could just cut the time down by saying in effect  “use this – and do it this way – it works for me”  became very attractive.

And finally, I know that John Thornhill promotes products that he likes. Mutual benefit after all.

OK, that’s why I finally decided to join the Marketing Masterclass as John calls it.  So is it really a “Masterclass” and does it look as if it is going to give me what I am hoping for?

Well, I’ll tell you this.  I’m not a gushing person and I’m not easily impressed.  But this evening I spent two hours working through some of the videos and carrying out the instructions and at the end of the two hours I was impressed. Really impressed.

I had just followed a few simple and clear instructions and had been shown how to do things that I didn’t even know existed – so how would I have ever thought of looking for them on google?

Like I wrote above, it’s knowing the questions to ask, not just getting the answers. Maybe all these tips are buried in some of the eBooks I have on the hard drive but there is nothing there which is as clear, short and to the point and yet as detailed as what I have worked through this evening.
